Question about digital cameras

I was wondering if I could please hear opinions on the best digital cameras. I would love to find a camera that reduces/eliminates eye redness, that automatically stabilizes the image and that shoots HD video. Right now, I am thinking of buying a Nikon Coolpix or a Panasonic Lumix, because they seem excellent, and was also wondering what the general consensus is on these two. I looked all over Amazon and in local stores, but it is hard when you have no idea where to begin. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!

You probably want to look around a web site like Steve's Digicams http://www.steves-digicams.com/. Users are only going to have in-depth experience with a few models/brands.

I do have a Panasonic TZ5 pocket-sized camera (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08012917panasonictz4tz5.asp) that takes very good photos and good video in 720p HD. Like most of them it does have a red-eye reducing flash setting (I don't know if it has any red-eye processing features, I always do that in software later).

If you're going to be doing video, make sure the camera can zoom while recording. I think by now most will, but that hasn't always been the case.

Oh, really? I had a Nikon forever and was always happy with it, so I thought that Coolpix might be awesome. Have you maybe tried Coolpix?

Personally,I would suggest the Canon G10.
It takes OUTSTANDING pictures,it's easy to use and it looks and feels like a real camera.
It's a little pricey,but I swear by it.

Also try cnet.com for quality reviews w/o the BS.

Is this ripoff supposed to be an homage?
Just wondering...
