Is this Something I should See A Doctor Over?

On the left side of my right eye it's red.

Should I wait till it goes away or see a doctor soon?

reply

What precipitated the redness?

reply

I don't know.

Don't recall getting anything in my eye that might of caused it.

reply

Well it's gone now.

Thanks anyhow.

Red eyes can be signs of various -itus's, not just conjunctivitus, as well as dry eyes and closed-angle glaucoma.

I have probably had red eyes for 9+ months now. I have been getting halos for most of that time, including rainbow halos every day for months now (including during daylight, not just night vision, and in particular the most vivid are around indoor house lights juxtaposed against a lit up room). I also get these events where my eyesight is massively hindered for several hours, which to me resemble closed-angle glaucoma attacks.

Despite this, I have been tested negative for this. That said, I wasn't experiencing at the time and as far as I can tell they can't tell if you do or do not have it unless you are either experiencing or they trigger an experience with pupil dilation. The eye guy also refused to perform the full range of tests, so I have no idea if my peripheral vision is diminishing.

I have been given a positive for severe dry eyes, though, and I'm starting to suspect maybe Sjogren's Syndrome as I am getting some pretty bad dehydration that I can't otherwise explain (I had an extremely painful, continually reoccuring jaw infection from a failed root canal last year which may have been the catalyst).
