What if the Flight to Varennes had succeeded?

Would Louis XVI return with an Austrian army and conquer revolutionary France or would he an Marie Antoinette peacefully live in exile?

Where is Napoleon Bonaparte in all this?

I think they would have lived in exile, the Austrian army wasn't successful in conquering revolutionary France and Bonaparte would most likely still have risen like he did. After the fall of Bonaparte would might have seen their son restored to the throne.

The French army would have had even more motivation to whip the Austrians knowing they were led by Louis and with Marie Antoinette by his side. She was widely despised by the French; her kids were called bastards by the writers of scurrilous verse. I doubt Louis and Marie could have found refuge in any European country, the fear of French retribution would have been too great.

Given that nearly all of Europe was at war with France anyway, I doubt they would care. Do note that Louis XVIII, king after his brother and nephew were killed, had little trouble getting asylum.

It wouldn't have had any effect. Louis and Marie would have lived in exile. Assuming he lived until 1815, he would have been restored to the throne then. If he died before that, his son would have been restored.

They would have lived in exile in Austria. I suppose. The rise of napoleon Bonaparte would probably have happened just the same, and the outcome would hVe been the same. if louis XVI had still been alive in 1814, he would have been restored to power rather than his brother. However, i think it more than likely that his son would have died by then, he was already showing signs of illness during the revolution. So things would probably have occured much the same as they did.
