The Great Conde'

The impression I am getting about his generalship is that he, and more importantly, the men he lead, fought longer and harder that the enemy. Conde's battles, Rocroi, Nordlingen/Allerheim, Lens ect, all come across as hard fought battles that could have gone either way until Conde' wins an overwhelming victory.

Anyone have any deeper view of Conde's generalship?
