This happens more often in the super-hero genre, but not always (like this year's GODS OF EGYPT). I ask because I've read/heard from time to time people saying that it's disrespectful.
shareI guess it depends on the historical incident and how they treat it. That "Lincoln Vampire Slayer" was an interesting and fun movie. Pearl Harbor sucked and was very disrespectful of the truth, even though it wasn't a "cool genre movie." I didn't see that "whatever basstrids" movie but the idea of Hitler getting blasted away in a commando raid is pretty cool.
