Presidential biographies

I'm currently reading presidential biographies and they're proving to be interesting. I read Robert Remini's three volume series on Andrew Jackson he had an interesting life. I'd like to read John Adams as well.

This past summer I read the two volume biography of Franklin Pierce, by Wallner. It was good. I knew nothing about that time period or the man so it filled in a large gap in my knowledge. Pierce is one of those "forgotten presidents" who generally is thought poorly of. While he had problems he was an amazing guy who was very well respected in his day. He had his principles, wrong though some of them were, and his goals and he stuck to them. He did keep the country together during his term as President.

I read a 4-volume set on the life and times of Lincoln by a guy named Nevens. Parts were fascinating, but too much of it was really dry. I need to read something about Truman; I've always liked and admired him, but never have read about him.

"...What does it matter?"
Hillary Clinton will never be POTUS.
That's what matters.

Barbara Bush is a direct relative of Franklin Pierce.
