The Flowers of War (Christian Bale)

This film has been doing well internationally but it seems the small domestic roll out has been doing badly and yet foreign films , historically, do not make as much money

I had heard that 40 percent of this film is in english
(If I am wrong about that I apologize)

Could it be that maybe it would the film might do better if domestic audiences didn't have to 'read' the film?

While this is considered to the average film goer, an art house film, I can see a much lower number of theaters its running in but still... apparently, fans of Christian Bale will not go see just anything he does.

Many of our domestic films are dubbed for the largest range of viewings overseas- why wasn't Flowers of War considered as a candidate for dubbing?

Please enlighten me
