Three Logical Questions About Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor

Was abdication really necessary?
Could not a compromise be reached?
Why did everybody involved in this farce that made the entire British Empire look ridiculous behave in such an obstinate unreasonable fashion?

reply

Not sure if it was necessary, but it worked out for the best. He was a horsesarse who thought Hitler was the greatest thing since sliced bread. His wife was a whore. The reign of Edward VIII would have been a disaster.

Its a small world when you have unbelievable tits

reply

Do you have any proof, that Edward VIII "thought Hitler was the greatest thing since sliced bread"? As I've understood it, Edward and Wallis did meet Hitler, but that doesn't meant they supported him. And calling them "a horsearse" and "a whore" doesn't seem necessary, does it?

Intelligence and purity.

reply

Whether Edward VIII was a supporter of Hitler or not (though he was), his reign was unnecessary because the monarchy is a laughable, anachronistic joke at the expense of the populace. There should never have been any other monarchs after he abdicated.

I feel sorry for anyone who feels the need to support people who only have power due to an accident of birth.
