Several books by Louis L'amour would make awesome movies. All of his books do have many historical facts in them.
shareI would absolutly love to see the King Arthur trilogy of books by Bernard Cornwell filmed
"No Tea for the Beastmaster please, he feasts on the Blood of his Prey"
I'd love to see an adaptation of James L. Swanson's Manhunt: The Search for Lincoln's Killers.

Aztec, Raptor, The Journeyer by Gary Jennings.
Epic masterpieces (well at least the first two) that would actually have to be toned down to get an 'R' rating.
