Let's say mankind never goes extinct..

We create incredible technology and can alter our DNA anyway we like, becoming super-intelligent.

What's the point of lifeforms? Say we get the power to reshape matter and energy itself becoming a near-godlike entity. What's the point of that lifeform?

It seems to me all life on Earth might as well have gone extinct in the Stone Age for all the point life has but then I'm in a foul mood.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

Well, we aren't quite where you say we are, yet, and arguably never will get there.

Say we get the power to...[become] a near-godlike entity.

The Bible says we are already gods. I don't recall where in the Bible, though. Sorry.

I'm in a foul mood.

I'm sorry you're in a foul mood. Sincerely. 😞

You misunderstand. I'm saying let's say we are there, in a hypothethical future.

Thank you. I feel a bit better today.

I'm glad you're feeling better. This morning I was feeling pretty damn funky, not sick just emotionally down. I guess that's why people are big on being spiritual. I wonder how spiritual I really am.

Ideally we will be able to achieve spirit form. Then a physical body will no longer be needed.

reply

Since you said ideally, would a 'spirit form entity' have more of a point than a 'physical form entity'?

reply

Sure. First of all, ideally we will be able to achieve a physical form anytime we feel it will be beneficial. But most of the time, spirit form is more efficient and effective.

How optimistic of you.

The same point to life there is now, reproduction and survival.
