I had a dream

In which Matt Damon chased a kid that I used to go to school with on a roller coaster. Yes, running on a roller coaster going full speed like it was nothing. Then, the kid accidentally committed suicide by hopping off the coaster and onto a broken ladder. Next thing I knew I was at a run down donut shop worrying about being late for high school. I graduated 8 years ago.

We have what we seek, it is there all the time, and if we give it time, it will make itself known.

A Freudian psychoanalyst would probably require a willing sharing of the current circumstances to provide contextual background for the dream.

While the imagery points to events in the past, the triggers to these memories are from the present, as the brain is sorting recent memories and their triggers.

You do realize that there can be no such thing as an accidental suicide? That's an interesting thing you said; maybe it's telling.

I can't tell you how many times since graduating in 1970 that I've dreamt I didn't study for a high school test. I've also often dreamt that I'd started a new job and couldn't figure it out. They say dreams are the subconscious' way of trying to resolve conflicts and anxieties of life.

In the dream there was. Damon was chasing him because either the former classmate cheated on his own wife with Damon's or Damon was chasing him for being a bad husband. The classmate was hopping over the carts on a roller coaster. He attempted to escape Damon by climbing down a ladder. The ladder was broken and the classmate fell to his death.

But that was an accidental death, not a suicide which is intentional. What's interesting to me is that the person dreaming is all the people in his/her dream. S/he plays all of the roles. The subconscious assigns roles to the characters based on what the person dreaming believes to be true about them.

I know I agreed that accidental suicide wasn't real. But in the dream I interpreted as such. Though I could argue anyone playing around with a gun that goes off in their face is testing death. Suicide as a cause? No. a suicidal mind set leads to a suicidal action. Accidental or not. I'm not disagreeing with the fact.

You do realize that there can be no such thing as an accidental suicide? That's kind of like suggesting that there is no such thing as an accidental homicide.

Dreams are our subconscious mind trying to work things out. Are you a big Matt Damon fan?
