Vices are necessary for the soul...

At least to an extent. I firmly believe this. As long as one remains self-aware, engaging in some minor scale self-consuming type behaviors on a semi-regular basis is as sustaining and enjoyable as it is human and inevitable.

Really, Elizabeth Taylor said it best... "People who have no vices are bound to have some pretty annoying virtues." I LOVE THAT! Liz Taylor was as smart as she was beautiful.

Yes, there's always that.

Nothing is "necessary" (that is a figment, a fiction), organic life could have gone extinct a million years ago.

I have doubts about the soul and inevitability as well.

Well as long as we're both clear on our terms, I have no problem whatsoever enjoying a point of view radically different to your own

Perhaps you need to look at what the soul is, from a different perspective. Perhaps not so much as a separate entity to our physical being, as many religions believe, but a conscious self-awareness about our life\being, and our purpose in being here and the journey to develop our souls. πŸ’«

I don't "need" to look at anything and we don't have a "purpose". "Need" and "purpose" are both fictional.

And it sounds to me you just want something other to develop than your mind.

I "must" be nothing. "Must/have to" is as fictional as "purpose" and "worth/value".
