How can people believe we have "rights"?

The Stone Age lasted 3.4 millon years and only ended ca 10,000 years ago and people today think they have the magic power to create "rights".

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

reply

A right is just a guarantee given by someone else to perform some duty. No magic is involved.

reply

"Duty" (or "obligation") is another fiction and there are no guarantees really, just promises.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

reply

I'm starting to think you're a fiction.

reply

Meaning you think I'm being insincere?

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

reply

Yes. Are you?

reply

Unfortunately no, I mean every word.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

reply

That's a bit hard to believe when you flood the board with 9 different topics, essentially saying the same thing.

Anyway, you're right, there's no duty, just a promise, and that's exactly what I'm talking about. A right is just a promise from someone else to perform some duty. There's nothing magical about that.

reply

How do you perform something fictional? (And don't say something like Peter Pan, a play of a fictional story is not performing a fictional play.)

Why does me saying similar things in 9 topics make you think I don't mean what I'm saying?

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".
