I gave 10/10 ratings to the original Godzilla (1954) and the original Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
I also gave 10/10 to such non-monster films as The Godfather, A Christmas Story, and O Brother Where Art Thou.
I wouldn't compare Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla directly to The Godfather, of course; for me, a 10/10 rating is for a movie that is a true masterpiece of its kind, not necessarily the greatest movies ever made, period.

Oh, hell yes. I'm GLAD I waited 30 years to watch 'The Thing;' at eight years old, I probably wouldn't have slept for a WEEK after. I was afraid to even watch the commercials for it.
