GODZILLA: Are the Showa, Heisei + Millenium films...
... canon to each other?
shareNot really. The Heisei films are a reboot series, and for the most part the Millenium ones are too. However, you could count Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla vs Megaguirus as seqeuels to Godzilla vs Desotroya with it being his son and all.

shareNo problem! Always a joy discussing about Godzilla.

As far as I know the Showa and Heisei films are both in their own canon, and every film in the Millennium series is canon only with the first movie and ignores all others, with the exception of Tokyo SOS, the sequel to Godzilla against MechaGodzilla. At least that's what I think.
For the most part, I agree with Agent Mothman, but there is one small technicality: 'Godzilla 1985' (1984 Japan) referenced the original 'Godzilla.' At the end of 'Godzilla 1985,' Godzilla fell into a volcano, and wasn't seen again until he re-emerged from a volcano in 'Godzilla vs Biollante,' and 'G 1985' was reffed in 'G vs Bio.' So there is a LITTLE bit of a connection between Showa and Heisei.
Oh, gawd, I'm a kaiju geek....
- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.
Hey,so am I. Grew up on Godzilla films, and can't wait to catch the latest one on DVD----it didn't play anywhere near me,and left the theatre before I could catch it. This is a space where we can all happily geek out on and about kaiju films, lol. So just get your geek on all you want here anytime you feel like it,lol.
