... decade. That movie shows the filming of (fictional) movies of different genres. They all represent what was trendy in the 1950s:

-Epics about Bible stories and/or the Roman Empire.
-Musicals with tap dances (filmed in only a few shots (or even 1)).
-Musicals with swimming spectacles.
-Drawing room dramas.
-Westerns with cowboys who knew how to sing instead of just pistol-whip.

I'd like to know how would those movies be if the story took place in each decade since the birth of film until this decade. I know there are tons of sub-genres, but each decade only has a couple of them that are the main trend.
