The Despicable Octet Camera Coverage
Just curious about the shooting style in The Hateful Eight. There appeared to be a tendency to let a 3-shot play out without the traditional cut-ins for to-and-fro reverse angles, etc. The scenes at "Minnie's Haberdashery" looked very theatrical insofar as the staging was concerned. Sometimes the camera would simply frame the characters and let them act out their parts within that 70mm frame with minimal panning.
Is this perhaps more of a conscious shooting plan or a particular limitation of the 70mm format?
Many thanks in advance
