I feel that Wally Pfister never reached his full potential.
Everyone has their opinion on the guy. But a lot of limitations and flaws attributed to him can be the influence of the famously visually unintelligent director Chris Nolan, whose films comprise the majority of Pfister's resume.
I feel that we would get a better gauge of his talent if he had worked with directors with some visual talent like Michael Mann, PTA, or Ridley Scott.
