Set Design, inexpensive, easy to set up, paneled ceilings.

So I want to make these inexpensive, easy to set up, paneled ceilings for a short I'm doing but am struggling to find a great way to do it.

Basically the ceilings would look like light panels but we would use a thin material so the studio lights would shine through and light the set.

We are using movable walls so the tricky part will be making a ceiling that can easily be taken down and put up.

Any suggestions?

Is this a good idea to ask this here?

Have you checked out the variations of plastic sheet/cardboard ? They generally are cheap , available in a choice of colors , translucent , large in size and easy to cut . They can be framed with wood or plastic for strength too ?

