TREVOR CRIPPS - BEWARE

I post this message so that others may not fall prey to this man and his lies.

We met Mr. Cripps when he did a small graphics job for our company.

He asked to be paid in person and when we met he told us many detailed stories about how he is the best F/X make up artist in the business, working on such movies as John Carpenter's The Thing, all of the David Cronenberg movies (as well as receiving daily emails from Mr. Cronenberg) as well as all the Saw Movie. Over Skype he showed us images that he claimed were his work.

However, I began to get suspicious when I realized that Mr. Cripps lives in a low income part of town and has an ongoing claim with Social Services here in Toronto.

I contacted Wikked pictures production office here in Toronto as Mr. Cripps claimed that he was the head of F/X and props on this shoot. When I told them of my concern they searched their records and found no such name in their list of people working on set, not even in craft service.

I contacted David Cronenberg, John Carpenter and Mickey Rourke's (who he claimed he was on a first name emailing basis with as well) offices to advise them that their client's names were being used around Toronto to try and boost business for this man and every one of them said they had no record of Mr. Cripps.

I received an email from Robert Brown, one of the line producers on The Thing to which Mr. Cripps claims to have made a very famous mask and this was his timely response:

"I do not know Mr. Cripps and he is not listed in the credits of The Thing. Rob Bottin was responsible for all masks and rubber effects on the picture. Perhaps Mr. Cripps worked on his crew at some point. I would be very skeptical of his claim to have created the mask."

I then talked to our local independent video store Isyor Cinema, as this gentleman knows a great deal of people in the industry. After discussing it with him he called a friend who actually works in F/X and it was deduced that Mr. Cripps is a fraud and has been doing this for years. He has a reputation in Toronto as a total liar and has zero respect from the F/X community.

Further, I received emails both here and at a private address that only Mr. Cripps knew claiming they were another person and a member of iatse 873 just like Mr. Cripps. The anonymous individual indicated that Mr. Cripps had been in the business for 30 years and that I was badmouthing him. However, this person refused to give their name or any contact information. They also advised that my film company was being blacklisted by iatse.

I therefore contacted the president of the local iaste where Mr. Cripps is listed as a CRAFTSERVICE WORKER and he advised that he never said anything of the sort regarding blacklisting my company.

People, I write this note to warn others of Mr. Cripps pathological behaviour and warn you that he is a fraud. If you have any questions, pm me and I will put you in touch with the same references I talked to to confirm it for yourself.

Mr. Cripps continues to have this message removed. However I will continue to put it up to protect others who might fall into his web of deceit.
