How would I do this for a low budget horror film?

In my film, I want to have a scene where the main character discovers a hanging person. How would I make it possible without injuring someone or using greenscreen? I need it as real as possible without injuring someone. I suck with green screening so I would like some tips or tricks. :)

what do u mean by hanging ?
Is it hanging by the neck with a rope or
by a hook thru his stomach ;) this would look terryfying with his intestine coming out and the hook thru his stomach.

OK for hanging by the neck ,There is a special rope made which from the fron tlooks as though he is hanging but it will hold him near his hips from behind .
get in touch witha a local studio they will rent you that belt for a very low rate.

Does the rope have a name so I can possibly purchase one?

I was going to have a shot of someone hanging dead about 15 feet away so I can't use a stool. If they do make special ropes then, I want to find out where I can get it.

Absolutely DON'T try this without the assistance of someone who has experience doing it before. The actor wears a body harness, with their clothes on over the harness to hide it. I would contact a theater dept or company. You can hide the body harness rope behind the noose rope. The noose rope IS NOT ACTUALLY ATTACHED TO ANYTHING.

Yeah, I did some research on it. It mentioned that you had a body harness and then a noose wrapped loosely around their neck. But, it looks like you have to have a lot of people or crew there to make sure nothing wrong happens. That would be bad if the body harness were to malfunction and all that stuff. :O
