Networks need to get it together

(Keep in mind I'm non-cable company TV viewer)This goes for all networks, they need to get there guide listings 100% accurate at all times even with "paid" programming. Nothing irritates me more then when I'm searching my guide listing, with a internet enabled guide, and there's missing data. I wonder, do the network exec's not watch there own channel(s), and even if they don't I'm sure that they are aware of someone who does.It just seem's like an obvious thing to accomplish.

The big networks aren't in charge of all the programming on the station. Much of the schedule--including the infomercials--is programmed locally, and I could imagine that when it comes to infomercials, programming them is done on short enough notice that not all listings can be updated in time (not to mention a station probably doesn't have the obligation to publish what amounts to additional advertising for the product by mentioning it in the listings). So if the listings of a particular affiliate over there in the Bay Area don't jive with what's aired, the person you should be mad at is there, not a "network exec."

You said it yourself, it's programmed. Maybe TV guide listings should be updated more frequently, alot more.

Yeah, that's pretty frustrating all right.

hmmm I've seen one network do a completely unannounced Infomercial marathon during Prime Time one evening. - To their credit, they did break for one half hour episode of "Dragnet" however. - Then right back to Informercials for the rest of the night.

I hate it when one of the two broadcast networks to air NFL football on Sunday will have one game at either 1 or 4 pm (eastern) listed in the newspaper TV guide and even in the sports section TV listing- but actually air a different game at a different time.

I'm open! There's just nothing in there!

That'a interesting vacuumMouse. What network did this happen on?

reply

Oh that happened on a now-defunct local network - which didn't announce its programming - but there was some sort of semblance to it for viewers to tune in to something they'd be running - but nothing was carved in stone as far as programming was concerned.

Once - if you can believe this - they even broke into a string of commercials instead of rolling the title and opening credits of a movie. They started with the Twentieth Century Fox logo and then - commercial time. It was like wow! What gives with this, right? If there weren't one recognizable star in the film - and thank goodness for IMDb to check his filmography - then who would have guess what was going on there?

These network execs sure make some retarded ass moves.Makes me laugh my ass off
that these morons still have a job after doing stupid egotistcal programming decisions like this.

reply

hmmm Yeah, maybe that's the problem all right.

Those network execs probably did get together to decide not to outdo one another in terms of quality entertainment, right?
