What would happen if NBC went belly up?

Since NBC and it's affiliates are given a specific channel, what happens to that channel? Since NBC is a subsidiary of GE, would there be a possibility of them creating a brand new network? Another thing I could see happening is a different company buying the channel altogether and starting a new network. Or, could they actually switch one of their pre-existing channels (like GE also owns the USA network, and AMC Networks owns AMC), to the channel that NBC was on? Are all, some, or none of these possibilities? What would most likely happen?

Your info is a bit dated. GE no longer has controlling interest in NBC. Comcast does. Comcast is a media giant that can pump billions of dollars into NBC if they wanted to. They just need to plan better.

Yeah, NBC is Owned by Comcast who makes money on all the repeats of shows that it produces through NBC Universal. Take the Law & Order shows for example...produced by Universal so they get a chunk of each airing, USA gets ads for airing reruns, and then Comcast gets paid for subscribers paying to watch it.

Comcast isn't going to let NBC fail no matter what.

I already had this question answered a long time ago from a post in another thread, but I just came here to tell you I think it's funny that people have a hard time understanding the question. It was a pretty simple question, but I keep forgetting the intelligence of the majority of posters on imdb are less than average . Look at your post and tell me whether or not it answers any of these questions asked in my original post as well as the thread topic:

Overall thread question:
What happens if NBC goes belly up

Question 1
Since NBC and it's affiliates are given a specific channel, what happens to that channel?

Question 2
Since NBC is a subsidiary of GE, would there be a possibility of them creating a brand new network?

Question 3
Another thing I could see happening is a different company buying the channel altogether and starting a new network. Or, could they actually switch one of their pre-existing channels (like GE also owns the USA network, and AMC Networks owns AMC), to the channel that NBC was on? Are all, some, or none of these possibilities? What would most likely happen?

Looks to me like your post doesn't answer any of the questions asked. amirite ?

Don't bother replying. I already know the answer to my questions and further posts from you will only show your stupidity .

No, the basic premise behind your question is faulty. Your inability to accept that is your problem, not ours.

Naw, you just have an inability to think because you're a complete retard. Regardless of whether or not NBC could every go belly up was NOT the question. The question was always what WOULD happen if NBC went belly up. Seriously, you're an idiot . Regardless of whether or NBC can go belly up, the question would STILL remain:

Person A: What would happen if NBC went belly up?
Person B: It won't ever go belly up.
Person A: Uh, okay, well what would happen if it DID go belly up?
Person B: It won't ever go belly up.
Person A: Umm, that's not the question
Person B: It won't every go belly up.

See how retarded you are? Probably not . Oh, and I could care less about you reply so say hello to the ignore list. Buh bye
