''AD''?
On ABC, at the beginning of each show, the letters "AD" pop up followed by a beeping sound. Does anyone know what the "AD" means?
Yippee: "For king!"
Yappee: "For country!"
Yahooie: "And, most of all, for 10¢ an hour!"

That's audio description. Basically what it means that an off-screen narrator describes what's going on during the show for the blind. The availability of this feature depends on your local TV stations or equipment. (My local CBS digital subchannel have this feature.) They're usually done by the Descriptive Video Service.

I have that on my TV via the SAP (second audio program) button. It would work if the signal was connected to my TV instead of through the cable box. I remember on NBC they had George H.W. Bush doing the narration for It's a Wonderful Life. PBS here has it as well. Thanks for answer.
