Movies with scenes filmed at railroad stations which have since been demolished
Hi folks,
I'm a railroad fan, so I would like to ask a question related to filming locations:
As far as I know, there's quite a number of great railroad stations all across the U.S. which have been abandoned and, later, demolished (booo!!)
I read somewhere that even N.Y. Grand Central was in actual danger of getting razed - but in this case, the citizens of N.Y. said, NO, this is a sort of a landmark, we won't have it that way! And now it seems to have been restored and "polished", as far as I know.
Aren't there movies (no documentary features) with scenes filmed in one of these wonderful big, old buildings? And there should be "appearances" of some of these luxurious "named trains" for which the U.S. railroads were famous...
What I don't mean are the very old railroad features from "Wild West times"; I'm specifically interested in structures/buildings, filmed in the 1940s to 1970/1980s, and the named long-distance trains of these times...
Of course you can also refer me to movies where there are structures in an already abandoned state on screen... quite a melancholic view, but still, interesting...
Kind regards
