The new look of Guiding Light... love it or hate it?

After last year's 70th anniversary "Find Your Light" campaign, GL underwent a drastic makeover this spring, with a new theme song, handheld cameras, and lots of outdoor location filming. I'm sure many longtime viewers of the soap were put off by the changes, and there are some who applaud the attempt at realism. Comments?

I quit when Ben cheated on Evie.
Even though I liked Holly.

After watching GL since the early 80's, I quit watching when Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding) was fired a few years ago. My sister recently told me about the show going to a cheaper way of filming. I checked it out and think it's just awful and extremely unflattering for some of the actors.

They've lost me, and the program was a family tradition dating back to my great-grandmother who was a fan of the radio serial.

The new filming techniques combined with the over-use of irritating pop song montages made me flick the switch.

I do not like it. Somehow it has lost its essence. I enjoyed it a long time ago when Phillip was around and I especially like the old Alan Spaulding even though I know he is deceased. Reve is getting on my nerves. What else is there for her? Cyrus is boring. When is Harley returning? I saw the actress on All My Children.
The writers need to upgrade Guiding Light or they will lose one viewer!

I personally love the new look but my aunt's mother-in-law really despised it and nearly stopped watching GL in entirety. I actually just started watching it before the new look though, and didn't get to experience the old GL.
