Soaps on NBC

Is there gonna be a new soap on NBC in the near future besides Days... or is that just it. I noticed that now, out of the 3 channels that air soaps (ABC, NBC, CBS) NBC only has one while ABC has 2 and CBS has 4. Is that gonna change or is NBC sticking with Days? I remember I used to watch Passions and Sunset Beach on NBC but now they're cancelled or moved on to cable. So I'm wondering if they're sticking with Days from now on. If that's the case, it's pretty sad given how incredibly boring and stupid Days have become.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, Days is short for Days of Our Lives.

Also, this might seem an odd question to ask in this post but I would like to know your opinion on this. Some people, after hearing complaints that an actor on a soap can't act respond by saying, "Many of those actors can't act. That's why they're on soaps." Do you think that's true? I've seen a fair share of crappy acting on soaps and I've seen good acting, so I don't know. What do you think?

I'm begging you for mercy
Just why won't you release me

I doubt there's going to be a new soap on any U.S. channel for quite some time. Soaps are falling on very hard times. The youngest soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, is 22 years old. The oldest soap, Guiding Light, is being canceled.

The acting on soaps? Susan Flannery is the best actor on television, nighttime or daytime. In general, I think soap actors are excellent. The Young and the Restless probably has at least 12 actors who could compete against anyone at night.

Susan Flannery is 70, the topic creator is probably speaking of young pretty boys and girls who look like they should be in 70s porn. Two of the women on Days look like they're already swallowing, Shelly Hennig and the young girl Mia who looks like it's always on her mind. The guys look like they should be on old school Bravo.
