I am the author Alan C. Thomas, HMCM/USN,Ret. My memoir of a Navy Corpsman 1964-2007 is entitled FLASHBACK:Vietnam: COVER-UP:PTSD (softcover ISBN 1-4241-8983-7). The focus of the book is how to heal or not heal from the trauma of war and any trauma.

I changed all of the character names to protect privacy; therefore, Flashback:Vietnam is historical fiction. The storyline of the book is based on fact, including my own tour of duty with a detachment of Marines, during the Vietnam War.

The storyline concerns the terrible nature of war and the cost of battle to an individual. The cost is enormous and often spans decades. For some people the battle does not have an ending; a nightmare that goes on and on many times resulting in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The main character, Rob Thomas served as a Navy Hospital Corpsman "Doc" with a Marine Squad, during SOG Operation Sunrise in 1970. Rob's comrades-in-arms gave their lives but the mission was not successful; therefore knowledge of "SOG Sunrise" is not acknowledged by the powers that be but rather it has been said that there is "NO RECORD." A Treatment of FLASHBACK:Vietnam is nearing completion, so it will be available for reading in October 2011. Reportedly, Brad Pitt liked the book!
