Sounds like you've been sampling water from Miles' office cooler after Nola dropped acid in it to prevent him from recognizing her as the old woman Debbie had taken under her wing. Miles kept having visions of his deceased wife Denise who'd been murdered by her father ... thereby giving Holland Taylor another week or so in Monticello if only a vision. LOL
Have you ever SEEN John Larkin who was Mike Karr from 1956 until he left the show after Sara's death ... but certainly none of the villains would have dreamed of imitating rugged Larkin. Your mind may be confused with hired killer imitating Phil Capice at the behest of Scofield Kilboure who hated Winston Grimsley. Kilbourne murdered Lambert, framing Louise, and bought her silence by convincing her he held living Phil a prisoner. Mike now looking like Lawrence Hugo returned from Capitol City to extricate Louise from the murder charge.
Very few of the 1950's episodes have survived. YouTube just had one of poor Ruth Hakim working for the sinister Mr. Moore trying to trick Jack Lane into meeting her in a hotel room. Little did Ruth suspect that a month or so later Big Frank, Moore's partner in crime, would because of his powerful hands climb the exterior wall to her apartment and strangle her, framing poor Jack.
Edge was performed live until the early '70's when moving to ABC, it was done "live on tape". It is rumored that P&G has a complete library from the entrance of Denise as Miles' serial killer wife until the end of the show.
On YouTube there are quite a few episodes with Nola, Elliott, Debbie, April and Draper being tormented by April's mother ... it'd be nice if P&G would release its Edge library on DVD but I doubt that'll happen.
