Marvel studios's No Smoking policy vs DC/WB's No humor policy

Has it actually been confirmed that WB has that policy?
And if so, I have to wonder how they'd handle making movies like The Flash and Shazam. These guys are packed with humors. So if they have a movie about them and they were more along the lines of TDK trilogy where there's little to no humor in them, then it really wouldn't be doing justice to those characters.
