I'm just an average joe as well, and villains for me are far more interesting and entertaining than the heroes that go against them. They tend to make a better character study.
Clayface would have my vote for a Batman villain in a live-action movie. 12 years ago, I would say there wasn't a chance you could see someone, with all of the moving body parts, come to life in a film set. But with the recent Marvel baddies: the Sentinels, Apocalypse and Thanos (Apocalypse being the most dull of the three), shows that almost any super-villain can be made into a movie. Sadly, the character of Clayface doesn't have a huge threat towards all of humanity or mutant kind, unlike the villains listed above.
I also haven't seen "Suicide Squad", I'll see it when I see it of course. If I remember right, Harley Quinn will be getting her own movie from DC within the next few years. If not a solo movie, than a movie involving an all villainous female cast.
Kill Croc looked a little disappointing in the "Suicide Squad" clips. I think one day we maybe could see him have his own movie down the road. Big maybe.
I like the Scarecrow very much in the comics and animated series. Much like the Riddler, both of which deserve to have their own movies redone. Heck, Mr. Freeze could use a makeover, to help us forget about "Batman & Robin" entirely.
I also hate, that Hollywood will most likely only go after the biggest arch-enemies to Batman, first. Only because they're the bigger money-makers for a franchise. I doubt we'll ever get Black Mask, Victor Zsasz, Hush, the Man-Bat, Ventriloquist/Scarface, and Duela Dent (villain wanting to be Joker's daughter). However, we'll most likely just see a villain redone (hopefully done right a second time around), before seeing a new Batman adversary.
I remember hearing the rumor that actor John Lithgow had shown some interest in the character of the Ventriloquist/Scarface, which I think would be amazing to see. And I remember an interview with actor Bryan Cranston saying he would like to do the role of Mr. Sinister in a future X-Men movie, which would be even more awesome. Sadly, I doubt we'll see this kind of talent in a future superhero film.
Ha, sorry for the Batman sounding buzzkill of a reply.
