Australian Blu-Ray Discs

I recently bought a blu-ray from JB Hi-Fi in Australia (Pitch Perfect). The case had the usual Australian "M" rating, but the disc had the "M" rating logo, plus logos for Ireland & the UK (15 in a hexagon I think, plus a 12). There were 4 classification logos in total.

I was just wondering if this is normal? I know that we have the same region for blu-ray discs as Ireland & the UK. Are they just getting lazy and mass-producing the discs and changing the case classification? Or did I buy a dodgy disc?

Yeah it's totally normal, you didn't buy a dodgy disc! They are just lazy and mass-producing discs, I've noticed that too!!!

Thanks for your reply. This is the first bluray I have bought in ages, so I had never seen it before. Glad I didn't buy a dodgy disc :)

Universal in particular does that with 90% of their BDs. They make them in the UK (or EU, not entirely sure) and then ship them to Australia, we often get the UK ratings on discs. Unless it's cut by the BBFC like for example, Immortals, which has its own unique Australian release with different language options and the uncut version of the film.

The way I understand it, Australia is now in the same region coding as Europe. Remember when we were just about on our own with region 4?

A hint for you; I always check the prices of box sets/obscure movies on Amazon.uk. You'd be surprised how much you can save. We got Game of Thrones for $50 less than JB Hi fi. Last month I got Das Boot for $12... delivered to the door!!
