how come wrong turn 2 on blu ray doesn't have bookmarks?

are bookmarks a studio specific thing or a newer thing? wrong turn 2 is from 20th century fox. and I'm talking about the wrong turn 2 in the first 3 wrong turn movies blu ray pack.

Most Fox BDs don't use bookmarks but they generally have automatic cookies, so the player should remember where you left off. Mine does that with most Fox BDs even after several months between viewings.

Bookmarks do seem to be studio-specific, they're normally on most Paramount, Warner Bros, and Universal discs. Fox, Disney/Buena Vista and Sony generally use the automatic cookie system instead.

but it's a new blu ray disc and why wouldn't fox, Disney/Buena vista, and sony have them. that's horrible and so wrong. I mean we go out and spend all this money, usually 14.99 on them and we still don't always get bookmarks???!!! that's so cheap and lazy of them to not include them. I mean blu ray was always marketed as being unique, special, and so much better than dvds in terms of video quality and in terms of features like bookmarks mostly as well as BD-Live online. so how can they make blu rays without something as simple and easy to make as bookmarks???!!! bookmarks make such a difference to me because then I can go back to those scenes really quickly and really easily. it's like being able to make scenes on a dvd wherever you want. and what is really amazing about them is even after you take a blu ray out of your blu ray player and put them back in your blu ray player remembers the bookmarks you made and has them still on your blu ray disc. I would like to know how a blu ray player can do this. what is automatic cookies?

It's a place-marker stored in the player's memory.. every time you stop playback it marks where you were, then when you reload the disc it gives you the option of going back to that point.. possibly check your BD player's system settings, this may require activation although it's always been automatic on all my players. That said, some BDs just have no place-marker capacity at all, which is just bloody irritating.
