I think it was 40s or 50s, American and Black and White.
I can't recall a single actor, but it was set in a large mansion. The elderly lady owner was supposedly very rich and her fortune hidden in the house somewhere.
The opening scene was in a courtroom, where she was being accused by her relatives of insanity.
She was very much the star of the show and had a strange dry chuckle after everything she said.
By the end of the film she wasn't even wealthy, it was her neighbour who was rich..
