6 or more $ for take out salad at a take out Pizza place. Seriously!

unfortunately that is what salads cost. and lettuce is more than iceberg which is the lettuce you are talking about.

romaine, arugula, kale and spinach and all expensive and have a shelf life of what seems like minutes.


5 bucks is what I pay for a salad without grilled chicken near my school and I teach in such a shi77y area that the salad bar at this ONE bodega is the only place that has salads because no one else got that memo that fried foods are shi7 for you.

and still, people are special needs when it comes to salads. they think adding three tons of creamy dressing 'because it's light' is going healthy.

If you are going out to a restaurant, of course you will pay a little more for a salad, than what you would pay at home.

If I go out to eat with my husband I get a salad with my meal, that can cost anywhere from 2-3 dollars. But for a take out salad that is going to be delivered to your home? All of the ingredients you mentioned may cost 6 or more dollars, but how many salads will all of those ingredients make? At least 4 to 5, and that small salad bowl they showed on the commercial could not have held no more 1 to 3 dollars worth of ingredients at the most, no matter what type of lettuce you use.

Like I said in my original post, if you want a salad instead of the take out pizza everyone else in the household is waiting on, you can take the ingredients out of the fridge and put it together, while everyone else is waiting for the pizza delivery.

the place near work... a bodega. where a sandwich costs less than that salad.

and I agree with you on the idiot twits who order salad when they can make it themselves. but it's their money and their idiocy. if places are going to sell salads worth 3 dollars at 6 dollars and there are people who are going to pay that, then there you are. I also know places that sell macaroni and cheese when stouffers or a box of Kraft would suffice. and still morons pay it and order it to be delivered.


and it may take longer but making pizza is the best. Boboli is good in a pinch but getting the frozen dough, defrosting it, setting it out all day so it could rise, patting it down to stretch it out and actually MAKING the pizza is the best.
