WERE DO YOU THINK DAWN IS GOING NEXT?

New Scientist announced that the Dawn team had sent NASA a proposal for an extended mission. According to the report, the spacecraft retains enough xenon fuel to break Ceres orbit and reach a third asteroid. The mission team has not yet revealed the proposed destination.

I was just wondering what asteroid other people think the dawn team maybe targeting.

Just to let you know, there are no prizes for who'm ever gets it right.

Oops! I'm a bit out of touch, I'd never even heard of Dawn before reading your post.

It's not a letdown to me. NASA determined that staying at Ceres has more potential to provide significant science discoveries than a flyby of Adeona. The reason being, it will moniter Ceres as it gets closer to perihelion, the part of orbit closest to the sun.

There is good news for New Horizons though. An extended mission has been approved to 2014MU69, an ancient object in the Kuiper Belt, considered one of the early building blocks of the solar system.

Edit: By the way, Ceres is a dwarf planet not an asteriod.
