plugged the hdmi cable in, then flick through to the channel which says hdmi/dvi then it changes to L+R. and then nothing, is ther something im doing wrong??? im plugging in my ps3 btw

What you're saying doesn't make complete sense, but I'm guessing that it's a 720p/1080i TV and your PS3 is set to 1080p. Plug the PS3 to your TV's HDMI connection, turn both on, set the TV to the correct input, then touch and "hold down" the power button of the PS3 until it forces itself to shut off. When you turn it on again, it should adjust itself to the maximum resolution your TV can take.
