Shopping for 40-42 inch LCD HD TV
Narrowed my choices to LG or Samsung.
Any thoughts?
Is 120Hz really all that much better than 60Hz?

Any thoughts?I would definitely choose the Samsung over the LG.Is 120Hz really all that much better than 60Hz?Simply put: Yes. 120Hz sets considerably reduce motion blurring compared to 60Hz sets. If you watch sports or action films or play video games, 120Hz is a vast improvement.

I would definitely choose the Samsung over the LG.
LG has the best priced 120Hz 40-42 inch sets on the market. Samsungs are cheaper but they are all 60Hz. Plus Samsung has a lot of bad reviews for their sound system.
I'm leaning towards LG.
LG has the best priced 120Hz 40-42 inch sets on the market. There is a a reason for that. LG is of inferior picture quality.
Samsungs are cheaper but they are all 60Hz.There are plenty of 120Hz Samsungs on the market. If you haven't found any, you're not looking very hard.
Plus Samsung has a lot of bad reviews for their sound system. Why are you even considering the built in sound system on any TV? All built in speakers for LCD TVs are crappy. You should have a separate sound system if you want good quality.
I'm leaning towards LG.Your loss.

Panasonic's 85U in 42 is considered the gold standard in bargains right now but it's Plasma, bought one a few months ago.
(PM me if you want, you do want a standard of 120)
