LCD or Plasma?
I prefer to watch movies, although I play games time to time.

I was looking at a Hisense 42" 100Hz for 1749 at a store here in Australia, and that is very cheap, and the picture seemed good. Although I want a stunning picture, and am willing to spend between 2500-3500AU? Any ideas?
I just got a 50" Plasma Panasonic Viera and it's great. Picture quality is great on Blue Ray, but still holds up well when on Standard Def (which is still how most TV is broadcast in Australia).
Beware the Sony Bravia. The picture quality looks great in the store but it's because Sony pays shops to pump a high quality signal into their screens. Ask the salesman to put the regular signal into the Sony screens and you'll find they are no better (and way too expensive).
