160gb iPod Classic freezing up...

This morning, before work, I added two albums to my iPod via imported CD. Now that I am at work and wanting to listen to my pod, it freezes up every time and I have to reset it just to get it back to the home screen.

When attempting to add the imported cds from my iTunes to my iPod the first time, it said there was an error and wouldn't do so. I disconnected my pod by ejecting it (not just pulling the plug), then reconnected it. This time iTunes allowed the imported albums to be added to the iPod. However, as mentioned, now I can't listen to anything though I was able to listen to one song and then when that was through, I moved to another album and it froze up again.

My question: has anyone else experienced this with the iPod classic? Do you know if I remove the albums once I'm home, if that will take care of the problem? I have over 22,000 songs on this thing and really don't want to do a total restore and then have to add ALL of my music back.

I appreciate any help you all have to offer or if you can think of another forum that would be able to assist.

Yeah, I just restored it. Gave me a chance to cull out all the music I never listen to. Thank goodness they were all still in iTunes and backed up to an external HD.
