Kindle help... why can't I download that book in the UK?

I've posted this on the sci-fi board before finding this one. Perhaps someone can advise me?

As part of my Vernor Vinge fixation I've been trying to download the audiobook version of 'A Fire Upon the Deep' with no success.
The book is unavailable at Audible UK, but can be purchased from Audible.com.
If I try to download the book, I am told that the book is not available for download in my area and the transaction's terminated. It must be able to detect where I am (in the UK), and I don't have the knowledge on how to 'fool' it.

Would it be possible for someone in another country (perhaps one of you guys?) to download this book and somehow forward it on to me? I'd be happy to pay for this.

Or perhaps there's a more obvious solution that I'm too dumb to see?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard that people use VPN to get around country restrictions.

You can use free programs like "Hotspot Shield" to mask your IP address and make a US site not know that you're viewing their site from the UK.

But when it comes to making the actual transaction when you get to their check-out page and have to use a UK debit or credit card, I'm not sure how that would pan out even with a masked IP address. It's probably the UK card details that are already getting your transaction terminated now as it is.

Dowload the free version of Hotspot Shield and see if it helps any. It won't do any harm to give it a try.

Once you've installed it, be sure to enable it before you visit the site from which you're trying to buy the book. If you click it into action after arriving, even if you refresh the page, the site will know that -- I've forgotten and tried that before.
