Android Smart TV box help

I have a MX DUAL CORE Androidtv box and watched movies on it last night, the next night it doesn't load and just has the background of the home screen, no options just the time and date in the corner. It won't respond to the remote control or the wireless keypad/mouse (batteries changed in both).

I have searched Google for answers and nothing, so am going to the forums now to see if anyone out there knows what's wrong. Any help?

Sounds like it's faulty. You still got the receipt or was it a gift for Christmas? 

Does it even have a brand? Might be something to return for store credit. No name usually means no software updates, and that can mean a very short life cycle. Better to get a name-brand player, or something else entirely.
