Looking for inexpesive HD camcorder.
It's been over a decade since I've owned an actual camcorder. Nowadays, I just use the video feature in my Panasonic DMC-Fz7 Digital Camera or my Optimus Elite smart phone. But recently I've tried recording family special events such as concerts & basketball games and the picture quality kind of sucked. So now I'm looking to buy a decent camcorder for around $1000, (under $500 would even be better if possible, but I'm not technical savvy so I have no idea what to look for. I've always thought that the higher the megapixels, the better the picture quality, but apparently that is not the case. What I'm looking for is ...
1. Obviously high definition would be at the top of my list, especially when I zoom in like from the back of an auditorium.
2. I'd like to be able to zoom in without any loss in quality or very little, but still high definition (less pixelation).
3. Stabilization ... when I'm recording things like a basketball game or zooming in and out, I'd like a lot less of the shaky camera syndrome.
4. Being able to snap pictures during recording mode would be nice so a fast shutter feature (but this is not as important since I can probably use a screen capture software to grab certain frames)
Like I said, I really don't know what to look for, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
