Need help with a recording error

Since I recently upgraded my cable service, I have occasionally been seeing this message when I try to record to DVD.

"This program is not allowed to be recorded, E26"

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? If you do please put the answer into "for dummies" language for me.

It only seems to be certain channels and certain shows. Thanks for the info.
