No more "The Simpsons" Blu-ray or DVDs

According to reports, 20th Century Fox will no longer release the remaining seasons of "The Simpsons" on DVD or Blu-Ray. Is this a sign of the times that all physical media is dying? Or because people don't want to own physical copies of "The Simpsons".

I bought a Simpsons DVD once and realized it was a complete waste of space. It's the sort of show you chuckle at when it's on TV but the thought of actually sitting down and watching a dozen episodes in a row is just absurd. So yeah, lack of demand I reckon.

If this is the case, maybe they could go the route they did for American Dad and Bob's Burgers. So instead of using traditional methods of sending X amounts of units to stores and what not, they could go the MOD route and still release the Simpsons dvd's and blu-rays to the public.

Well... in that case how are we supposed to GET Simpsons episodes? It's not on Hulu or Netflix as far as I can tell, and some of us don't WANT Sky, especially when it's up to someone else as to which episode is shown. WE WANT CHOICE! DVDs GIVE US that CHOICE!

reply

Get a DVR and record them off of the many TV and/or cable channels that carry the show in syndication.

reply

They want you to watch them on FXNow. In the wrong aspect ratio.

In all fairness, the seasons that aren't getting released are for the most part a joke anyways. All the best episodes of this show have been released on DVD.

reply

Good point! The best seasons are 1-10.
