Anyone here familiar with Martin McDonagh?

I've read The Pillowman, which absolutely floored me, and have just started The Beauty Queen Of Leenane.

I also loved his screenplay for the film In Bruges.

Anyone familiar? Thoughts?

I've finished "Beauty Queen" which was great(I love how he toys with pre-conceptions in his works), and am now reading A Skull of Connemara, with The Lonesome West to follow that(they're all part of one Collected Works book).

I'll be sure to track down The Lieutenant Of Inishmore as soon as possible.

He's probably my favorite playwright since Samuel Beckett.

He can be a blast, and is certainly easy to get into, if you enjoy black comedy. I personally am a big fan of "The Cripple of Inishmaan" and "The Lonesome West," but can't say I dislike any of his plays (though I haven't seen or read "A Behanding in Spokane").

My brother saw "Behanding" in NYC last year, with Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell starring. I was dripping with envy.

That had not occurred to us, Dude.-§

Pillowman was GREAT for the first half. Then it sunk into absurdity and cliches.
