Auditioning for The Little Foxes

I'm auditioning for the stage version of The Little Foxes (1941). The movie with Bette Davis. I'm trying out for Alexandra. Does anyone have any tips? Character insight? Mannerisms or attitude? Portrayals? Any suggestions of the sort?

SO AWESOME /)^3^(\

There are those who still know- they're still home. We're still home.

Into the woods, then out of the woods-- and happy ever after! (I wish...)

You watch me, just watch me. I'm calling, I'm calling. And one day all will know...

If you bear in mind that the original Regina (the Bette Davis role) was played by Tallulah Bankhead on Broadway you shouldn't go far wrong.

Why would I lie.
Lillian Hellman's mother came from Alabama as did Tallulah Bankhead but it could have been mere coincidence. Dan Duryea as Leo was the only member of the Broadway cast who also played in the movie. For the record it premiered on Feb 15, 1939 and played 410 performances before going on tour. Your part (Alexandra) was played by Florence Williams who was replaced later by Eugenia Rawls. Also in the cast was Carl Benton Reid as Oscar, Charles Dingle as Benjamin, Patricua Collinge as Birdie and Frank Conroy as Horace. Hellman wrote her own screenplay when it was filmed in 1941.
