The creepiest thing you've ever seen at a play or musical

What the title says. What character, scene, or effect at a staged play or musical was so creepy it sent chills up your spine? When I saw Scrooge: The Musical (A musical adaption of a Christmas Carol) at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in CO, the future ghost that Scrooge encountered looked like a tall grim reaper. Had on a long black hood and it was really eerie.

You?

James McAvoy doing Macbeth was chilling, and quite gory. I'd add almost anything by Philip Ridley , at some point in most of his work the drama turns to chills or shock, which mixed with his sense of humour has great effect on the audience.

Last Halloween, I went to see "MacBeth" at Lincoln Center which had a pentagram all over the stage and had three men in drag playing the witches. It was staged so darkly and told so demonically that I felt I had to shower when I got home.

Other than that, it was probably the musical "Dance of the Vampires" where at the end, a group of "Lost Boys" style vampires from hundreds of centuries before take over Times Square in the present and sing the lyrics, "We'll drink your blood, and then we'll eat your soul. Nothing's gonna stop us. Let the bad times roll." Behind them was advertisements for various products and other musicals including, "Got Blood?" and "Bats! You will live forever!". It had the splendorous effects of "Wicked" but lacked the heart and ended up being a major flop. If they ever update the book "Not Since Carrie", they should call it "Not since DOTV".

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."
