2 new plays I've seen this month.

1) Argentina's REW: The problems of 5 friends who have just graduated high school, told in reverse chronology. Sounds like BETRAYAL, right? Well, Harold Pinter is mentioned in one moment, so this play is a tribute rather than a copy. Good performances and a creative use of images on small screens, but I wouldn't blame someone for losing their patience. While you watch it, it's hard to tell where it's headed at.

2) England's THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHTTIME: A teen with Aspergers wants to solve the mystery of who killed his neighbor's dog. It's the 1st time ever (I think) that a play arrives here (Chile) less than a year after winning the Tony. The teen's father told him his mother died, but I predicted that she had actually abandoned them. What I didn't predict was the indentity of the dog's killer. That's actually revealed sooner than one would expect. That's fine, because it remains a deep and touching drama throughout. The performances are great, the visuals are amazing, and the fact that the narration is shared makes the viewer constantly pay attention ("Hmmm... Is this actor saying their character's dialogue or the protagonist's?). There's a scene with a puppy, and they used a real one. The audience went "Awww!" When the puppy left the stage (on cue), everyone laughed and applauded.
