Question about traveling by train in Europe

Bus travel is less romantic, but much cheaper. I recently travelled from Hamburg to Copenhagen, €15 both ways, which included the ferry. There are a lot of good bus deals to be gotten on-line, and there's seldom a problem finding a seat, even at the last minute. The busses are clean, usually include free bottled water, have toilets, and have enough stops to make the ride comfortable.

Any particular bus-line or booking method?

I don't remember what on-line booking we used, but there's no lack of bus companies, often competing with each other. Just google the route you want, and you'll get options. I really can't help you more than that, just to suggest the idea of busses. By the way, the route we took between Hamburg and Copenhagen actually originated in Paris.
